Anger
is a response to feelings of discontent and unhappiness. When we have to put
up with something we would rather avoid – our uncontrolled mind reacts by
immediately feeling unhappy. This uncomfortable feeling can then turn into
anger, and we become even more disturbed than before. It is an emotional state that may range from minor
irritation to intense rage. There is nothing more destructive than anger.
Of
course not everyone with anger issues express their anger in loud ways. Some sufferers
will become quiet, slowly and stew inside while others may yell and scream,
throw and break things or become constantly moody and easily irritated.
Walking has been found to
help prevent intense feelings of anger. Walk at least fifteen to twenty
minutes a day briskly to release tenxsdion and
anxiety which leads to anger. Walking
causes the body to release endorphins which make you feel better.
Relaxation
techniques, even a simple
one like breathing deeply can help calm
down angry feelings. Breathe deeply from the diaphragm (stomach area) not the chest.
It may help to say to yourself calming words over and over again each time you
breathe
