Anger and/or indignation is especially important in this remedy. If you can pinpoint the onset of symptoms to either of these then Colocynth may well be indicated.
Known as a purgative since antiquity this plant primarily helps related conditions.
It is especially useful for babies who are colicky with a bloated abdomen. They are in pain and let you know! They will often pull up their knees as this seems to help. Contrast this with the remedy Dioscorea which has similar symptoms but is better from straightening out the legs and even arching the back.
The diarrhoea may be green (not always) and peculiarly may be bought on after eating fruit.
Anyone, not just babies, can suffer from these complaints however! If someone has had an angry argument or has been over-excited (compare with Coffee) and diarrhoea results consider this remedy.
